Vic: Man stabbed in schoolground after sidewalk dispute

A man is in a serious condition at the Austin Hospital after being stabbed in the back
at a school in the outer northern suburb of Broadmeadows.

Police say two 28-year-old men were pursued by three men, and one of them was beaten
and stabbed on the grounds of the Broadmeadows Secondary College just after 5pm (AEST).

The stabbed victim was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital, where he is in a serious but
stable condition.

Police say the car driven by the three offenders is described as an early model green
Volvo sedan which is missing the front grill.

All three men are believed to be in their late twenties to early thirties, and of south
pacific islander appearance.

It is not believed that the victims or offenders are in any way linked to the school.
